Liberty Encounters: Colonial Georgia

The Educational Film Project

For the past 25 years, Aaron Bradford has been sharing a passion for American history with others.  He has shared stories from Colonial Georgia for 11 years, in and around the Historic District.  In 2020, he began Liberty Encounters and now offers immersive Colonial, Revolutionary War, and Friends of French Savannah Walking Tours, Georgia Patriot Refugee Learning Adventures, and traveling programs.

We are delighted to have captured elements of these presentations in a professionally done series of videos, including 3 hours of film, as a powerful way to share this history beyond those who may travel to Savannah.  The goal is to share our history with the next generation, as from one generation to the next, that is how quickly our freedom and a clue of what our freedom costs may be lost.  Once our freedom is lost, it is very hard to get back.

A number of heritage organizations and history societies exist that have the same mission.  The funds of $10,000 would allow us to gain the missing link of sharing this product.  This online series could be shared in libraries, classrooms, and online to share this story beyond those who may travel to Savannah!

There are groups of students, Scouts, and others who desire to take part in these inspiring and engaging history programs, and yet are prevented by cost.  Your donations to a sponsorship fund would allow us to be ready to remove this obstacle and allow them to experience the extraordinary history of Colonial Savannah in an unforgettable way!

As a mother during a recent field trip stated, “The only way that I would have known any of this amazing history is going on this tour.  I didn’t learn any of this in school.”  Abraham Lincoln wrote, “The philosophy of the classroom in one generation is the philosophy of government in the next.”  The founding American ideals of Faith, Virtue, and Freedom are in many instances no longer being passed down.  Are the next generations of Americans being taught the ideals that America was founded upon, that all of mankind is created equal, and endowed by their Creator with certain, unalienable rights?
