Campaign Story

God gives His men jobs to do. These are some of them.
The website www.forchristianmen.com and associated media platforms will focus on all recognized media that is geared toward being part of God’s plan to save, edify, entertain, and sanctify Christian men. Men have unique jobs to do in God’s Kingdom, God refers to these as “good works.” From having a loving, productive, fulfilling relationship with their creator, Jesus Christ, to being the husband and father God calls them to be, to being exemplary workers on the job, to being one of God’s loud, beautiful voices in praise, men need such a place to go that is essentially one-stop shopping for all those things that foundationally keep them on track and growing in the Lord.
Christian men need a free, accessible, safe, fully vetted place to go for information, instruction, encouragement, and entertainment. Here’s why?
Today’s headlines seem to be bubbling up from a witch’s brew. Kids don’t know what sex they are. Or if they do someone wants to change it. Instead of fattening M&Ms, they’re downing deadly Fentanyl, which the government allows over the border at FedEx speeds. Mothers kill their babies on the altar of convenience while perversion is sold in our schools, even our elementary schools, like cotton candy at the circus. God, though He froths in wrath and judgment, bringing calamity after calamity to get our attention, is ignored, while Satan stands there having a good laugh and prepares to push the culture ever further from the truth.
Within all this turmoil struggles the Christian man.
Even a casual survey of Psalms tells us the Christian life, even in the best of times, is no cake walk. While we’re literally at war with the world, our own flesh, and that devil—a war that seems determined to slash our moorings to God and set us adrift on some very tumultuous seas—God is also at work within us to scrape us clean of every sin that separates us from Him and replace it with an iron-strong faith and commitment to his word. Ever feel He’s got you by the ankles, holding you upside-down over the Grand Canyon. Everything in your pockets—money, credit cards, pictures of family—falling to the rapids beneath. Will you be next? Will He or won’t He drop you? He won’t, but you gotta hang there for a while to realize it.
Our plates are full.
But there’s more. God’s also given us jobs to do. Important jobs. Jobs He’s prepared us for, given us gifts and talents to accomplish them. Jobs people we love count on us doing well. We’re the head of our household, the physical and spiritual leader. We’re the teacher, preacher, advice giver, lover hander-outer, disciplinarian, holder of the rod, the person our wives and children look to for strength, encouragement, and above all, wisdom. And the fear of God is the just the beginning of all that. We’re behavioral psychologists, we’re prognosticators, we’re leaders in our church, our extended families, and we’re responsible for telling all these people around us, all these people God’s given us, about Him. How good He is. How Wonderful His Son. How faithful He is. How magnificent. Overwhelming.
And bubbling through all this surface are doubts, anxieties, a serpent’s lies, attacks from even those closest to us. Is He who He says He is? Did I read that right? Why does it say that? What does this mean? Why is God doing this to me? Can I really trust him? Why isn’t God answering me? Or if He is, why am I not understanding? Why did I say that?
God wants us to come to Him, but He also wants us to go to others He’s blessed with wisdom and knowledge. Iron sharpens iron. Wisdom dispenses wisdom. This is For Christian Men. It’s a free website. A reservoir of resources. It’s not there to nickel and dime you to death, it’s there to point you to places to go for answers, or places that helps you formulate the right questions. Here’s some of what it will have:
Books – a comprehensive “list” of books written especially for men, most by men, but all about men and the issues they face. There will be links to where you can get them.
Videos and Documentaries – the visual is where it’s all going. Here will be links to sermons from, and conversations with, noted Christians and documentaries that affirm and confirm bible truths.
Scripture – places in scripture to read and think about that focus on your place in God’s kingdom, His love for you, and His faithfulness to you, as to walk and often stumble on your way closer to Him.
Bible Studies – I would like to have a full range of Bible Studies, all geared to men, available and ready to be taken.
Doctrine – is there anything drier? Actually, I find doctrine—the distilling of truth and meaning from God word—to be one of the most exciting parts of being a Christian. And it’s certainly one of the areas that, if handled improperly, tears churches and Godly relationships apart. This would be a place where doctrines, sometimes competing ones, can be dispassionately dissected and reassembled so you can decide which to believe.
What’s the truth? Day after day, even hour after hour, we’re hit with “truths” that tell us the world we live in is crumbling around us—resources are drying up, the climate is killing us and will if it gets any colder or hotter, over population is goggling all the food up, and so forth. But what’s the truth? Our goal here is to ask people who really know and have no particular ax to grind, and let you know what they say.
Sharpening Rooms – we envision “chat rooms” for men facing specific issues – layoffs, difficult children, grief, dissolving marriages, etc. – might go to talk with other men going through the same problems.
Christian Counselors – I would like to forge a relationship with the American Association of Christian Counselors and with churches throughout the U.S. that provide Christian Counseling to create a directory for men to use when needed.
Spiritual Warfare – It’s real. It’s profound. It’s everywhere. And Christian men need to know about it and how to defend themselves and their families against it.
Entertainment – Most faith-based films are utterly void of car chases, shoot outs, and frightening or exhilarating moments. There are real reasons why a film that explores Christian issues for men might have all four. The Kendrick Brothers gave us “Courageous,” for instance, Mel Gibson, “Hacksaw Ridge.” There are comedians, and older films. Sporting events that still ring loudly. Men are men and men have fun like men. In a world that wants us all to be women, we need to stand up and pee.
The above is not an exhaustive list and that’s the beauty of all this. There is no exhaustive list. There will never be an end to this site’s growth and relevancy. Because we’ll listen. We want to know what you want to see. When you came here and didn’t find what you needed, what was it, so it’ll be here the next time. We want this site to be what Christian men need and want. As with anything like this, there will be some controversy about what’s appropriate and what isn’t. Again, you’ll decide that along with us.
How do we make money if it’s free? Some of the books we’ll sell, those that we’ve publish to fill specific needs. There will be a gift shop—mugs, T-shirts, maybe some gifts for the wives and kids. There will be a place to support us with donations. We’re going to be a non-profit, so our goal is not to get rich, but it is to fulfill God’s admonition that a worker is worthy of his hire and all our oxen are unmuzzled.
We need your help to get this site off the ground and growing. We need to hire researchers to identify and review, those charged with developing relationships with information sources, and those to categorize things and make them easy to find. But you know all this. It’s a big job. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Even if you just let us know what you want to see, and pray that we find and corral it, that would be a huge help. We have no corner on wisdom here.
God bless. We covet your prayers.
